MADSEC is pleased to announce a year-long professional development series for new special education teachers in Maine. In collaboration with distinguished special educators and the MaineDOE Special Educator Engagement, Development & Support (SEEDS) program, we have developed a series of six mini sessions to focus on priority topics for new special educators. Each session will target a specific priority topic with a 15-20 mini presentation to provide background knowledge and valuable information to attendees and then a follow-up discussion/collaboration period for the remainder of the session. Strategies, tips, tools, and resources will also be shared with attendees. Our intent and hope is that new special education teachers will gain valuable information and resources to assist them in their personal teaching career while also networking and connecting with others across the state to best serve our Maine students with disabilities
