Membership:
There are basically two classifications for membership with MADSEC: Active and Associate.
Our active members are special education administrators in public schools, private schools, or directors of Child Development Services (CDS) sites in the State of Maine. Associate members include apprentice, honorary, retired, professional other, and secretary. Both classifications come with their own requirements and benefits.

Dues are structured at least a year in advance by the Representative Board. They will be as follows through 2007-2008:
Individual Active Membership ($300)
All Maine special education administrators, full-time or part-time, in public school units, private schools and CDS sites, are eligible for full MADSEC membership.
LEA Active Membership ($450)
Includes full membership for director, one assistant, and one administrative assistant. All staff in the unit are entitled to member rates for MADSEC events.

- Apprentice ($85)
-Those in training for special education administration
- Retiree ($30)
-Retired special education administrators
- Professional Other ($85)
-For educators other than special education administrators, and for other individuals, firms, organizations and agencies who wish to maintain an affiliation with MADSEC
- Administrative Assistant ($25)
-For any special education office support staff whose administrator is a member. A workshop each Spring for support staff is a member service.
