The A. Leigh Phillips Scholarship Fund is maintained through the cooperative efforts of the Maine Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities (MADSEC), the Department of Education (DOE), and the Maine Council of School Board Attorneys (MCSBA), as a tribute to Ms. Phillips and her many contributions to children with disabilities throughout Maine.
Selection Criteria

Student with a disability(ies) identified under IDEA and Chapter 101
-
Student going on to post-secondary education
-
Student with exceptional achievement in one or more of the following:
- Academics
- Extra-curricular, core-curricular
- Leadership
- Volunteerism
Applications
Applications must include a copy of each of the following, and be complete in order to be considered by the committee:

a profile of the applicant's background (100-150 words) which can serve as the basis for a press release

three letters of reference or nomination and at least one from the school administrator

a completed resume and/or vitae
-
an up-to-date copy of transcripts
