MADSEC is pleased to offer the 2023-2024 New Special Education Administrator Academy for directors/assistant directors/coordinators working in a Maine state-approved school with 3 or less years of experience or who are new to Maine schools.
The Academy will provide panel discussions with experienced special education administrators, round table discussions, networking opportunities, resources, guidance, and support throughout the school year. Additionally, the Academy will host scheduled speakers at each session. Speakers include Erin Frazier, Director of the Office of Special Services and Inclusive Education from the Maine Department of Education, Drummond and Woodsum Attorneys at Law, Maine Association of School Psychologists, and possible surprise speakers. Guest speakers will present critical information for new special education administrators, discuss priority special education topics, and offer guidance to attendees. The purpose of the New Special Education Administrator Academy is to support new special education administrators and provide them with information and resources as they embark on their new directorship.
The 2023-2024 New Special Education Administrator Academy will include one full-day, on-site session in Augusta, and two half-day sessions held virtually in November and March.
